Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely known as the pioneer of modern-day scientific research of children's memory as eyewitnesses and also the application of child victims in court contexts. Professor Goodman who is a prolific author with a wide range of publications and many awards to her credit, is also the recipient of numerous international and national prizes. She has advised numerous government agencies and governments around the globe on policies and studies pertaining to child victims in the justice system. She also serves as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center. (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) and is a part of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She has been a member of numerous professional organizations, such as those of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions of Experimental Psychology, Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family Policies and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Professor Goodman is also a member of Psychonomics Society, the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of the The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division, as well as three Divisions: the Child and Family Practice and Policy Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
